Updated Photos of the Gravity Group's New French Wooden Coaster - Timber!

© Walibi Rhone-Alpes
Toward the end of November we took a look at the new family-sized wooden coaster being built by the Gravity Group at France's Walibi Rhone-Alpes.  The ride will be named Timber! and carry a saw mill type of theme, including heavily themed trains.

Since that time the work on the ride has progressed, and although this top photo isn't the most recent it's too great a view of Timber!'s 55 foot first drop to pass up.

This is the photo (the full batch including both older and new shots can be found here) that really stood out to me, being a lover of aerial views of rides.  If you compare this to the concept art that was released, you can see just how spot on it was.  Timber! will feature 1,464 feet of track, a 56 foot tall lift hill and two trains each seating 12 passengers.  The ride's layout includes plenty of airtime hills along with the twisted section you can see on the left of the above photo, which includes several track cross-overs as well.

With the structure appearing to be pretty much complete, now the focus will shift to adding track to the ride.  Once that is done she'll be ready for a test spin!

Here is a video that the park also released a while back showing various concept art for the area surrounding the new coaster, as well as a point of view animation of the ride:
