Benefit Game to Help Conneaut's Blue Streak Restoration Project

Save the date! On May 19th at 6:30 p.m. the Harlem Wizards and the Crawford County Teachers will go head to head in a benefit basketball game, with proceeds going toward the Conneaut Lake Park Blue Streak Restoration Fund.

What sounds like an awful fun event, the game will be played at the Allegheny College’s David V. Wise Center. Tickets in advance are $8 for students and $10 for adults; at the door, add $2 per ticket.

The fund to reopen the famous Blue Streak wooden roller coaster needs around $125,000 to bring the ride back into operation. Currently about $7,000 has been raised. The classic coaster opened in 1938 and was designed by Edward Vettel.

Since the event is of a local nature those who cannot attend but want to help can visit the website for the coaster to find out what they can do.
